Women of Faith

Thursday you received the May/June issue of MMCW that did not meet our standards. We experienced a glitch in our system that led to the deactivation of the links in the e-letter along with some type. Please accept our apologies and the revised e-letter. We pray this issue will be a blessing to you.

Welcome!
It seems I forget each year how hectic the month of May is for my family. This year has been no different. Kindergarten graduation, field trips, doctor and dentist appointments, church activities, the list goes on and on. I imagine you are no different and May was a whirlwind for your crew too.  To allow our staff time to catch their breath, May and June's issue has been combined into Mentoring: Women of Faith.

This e-letter ranks high among my personal favorites. Women from a variety of backgrounds (moms, pastor's wives, women's ministry directors, and grandmothers to name a few) have shared their heart concerning the power of godly mentoring. It is not just for the young, but as Elizabeth George says there is always someone older to learn from and someone younger to teach. Whether you are a seasoned mentor or a mentoree, this issue will encourage and enlighten.

Did you know that MMCW online is updated monthly with new articles and information? This month Freezer Cooking has been added to our online Recipe Box. A new online feature is the addition of video and podcasts. Be sure and watch Louie Giglio's video on Laminin at Soul Food. If you have not seen this already, be prepared to be blessed!

Mentoring is at the heart of all we do at MMCW. We believe God has given every woman gifts and talents to be used for His glory. We would love to have you join us in mentoring women through your articles, devotions, and photos. Send your submissions to mentoringmoments@aol.com.

Blessings,
Kellie

Finding a Mentor
Kellie Renfroe

God has a way of introducing mentors into our lives in unexpected ways. I expected a woman to arrive on my doorstep and say, "God told me to mentor you." Instead, when I wasn't looking, she appeared. I used to become frustrated when reading about the importance of mentors. I would think, yes--and where are they? It is easier than one may think to find a mentor. Discover how you can find a mentor and be a mentor. Finding a Mentor at Women of God.

Learning to Resolve Conflict God's Way

Old-Time Religion?
Molly Evert
The Word may be preached effectively in a variety of evangelistic contexts, but we deceive ourselves if we think we are witnessing when the Word is noticeably absent. We are tempted to think that our exciting methods and cutting-edge programs have the power to save. They do not. The best weapon in our evangelistic arsenal is not a secret, but in this day of hype and programs, it seems that some have forgotten its power. Old-Time Religion? at Soul Food.

Seasons of Life
Wives of Faith
Stephanie Little

I'm struck with the magnitude of God's use of marriage to strengthen and demonstrate our faith. I thought it would be interesting to discover how God has worked in the lives of five different women, molding them into women of faith as well as wives of faith. As you read these testimonies, see if you can relate to their experiences and ask the Lord to reveal His truth to your heart as an example of how to live out your faith in your own marriage. A Mother in Israel

The Power of a Mentor
Kristin Burgess
There are many spiritual women in my life that have left an everlasting imprint on my heart and mind. Thankfully at the age of 26, I can say that. I accepted Christ at 13, although I do not feel I really began growing deeper in His Word until the age of 22.

I married my husband of eight wonderful years when I was 18 and he was 20. He joined the Air Force and we were stationed in Charleston, SC for five great years. During that time, I was able to graduate from college and met my best friend Anissa. I had no idea what God had in store for our relationship.  While working briefly with Anissa she invited me to visit her church and small group. Michael and I were still searching for a church so I accepted her invitation. God placed us in an awesome church where we still feel rooted even though we have moved from Charleston. We also had a powerful small group of friends who helped us grow in our relationship with Christ and our marriage in wonderful ways. All of the couples were older than us, but age made no difference. We still keep in touch with all of them.

Anissa has been an example of a woman of faith in my life through her faithful walk in Christ and how she shares God's love with others. She has taught me what it means to be a true Christian friend, wife, and mother. She has a genuine servant's heart towards everyone.

I believe her Christian qualities are an example to me of how I would like to live my life for Christ.
