Happy Thanksgiving!
Can I be real for a moment? October's issue was to focus on the masks we women wear. What I discovered was it was time to remove one of my own that month--the mask of superwoman. I've heard it said, and know the truth of it, that when you plan to talk about a subject the Lord deals with you first. I got dealt with, girlfriends! So, this month in MMCW you'll be challenged with two thoughts -- removing the masks and thanking the Lord. They do go hand in hand after all -- it is only when our hearts are uncovered before Him that we see our great need and pure praise and thanksgiving arise. October's issue did not arrive because the Lord removed my superwoman mask. Between two sick children, catching the flu myself, a ladies retreat, writing another e-letter, and teaching a Bible study, the Lord put a halt to my growing TO DO list. This e-letter and web site is all about Him -- not about what the editors and I can accomplish. Instead of sending an issue out for the sake of publishing an issue, I waited until November. Do you want to know God and hear His voice? I do, even if it means waiting. This month the women have shared from their hearts the journey the Lord has taken them on to remove masks from their lives. This month, read Psalms 33 & 34 in the King James Version, New International Version, and The Living Bible, and meditate on the beauty and power of God in our lives--even the power to cause us to remove our masks. Blessings, Kellie :) Kellie Renfroe, Editor-In-Chief |

Thanksgiving Blessing
by Lori Lauth, Soul Food Editor Have you ever sat down and just thought about the goodness, mercy, love, and compassion of God? As I focus my thoughts on God, I can't help but to be thankful. Thankful because we are blessed to have breath in our bodies and to have a sound mind. We are all blessed for many different reasons. Some of you may be enduring hardships this Thanksgiving season. I'm reminded of Isaiah 43: 2 & 5, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, the flames will not set you ablaze. Do not be afraid for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west." I'm so grateful that God is with me. When I'm struggling or hurting, I spend time singing my favorite worship songs. You know what? He's right there with me. This season make a point to look up and praise God for your blessings-- no matter how big or small. He's worthy of all our praise.
Dear Father in heaven, thank you for your son, Jesus Christ. Thank you for all you do for us every day. Lord, you are in both the big and small things. I pray that a heart of gratitude is developed in each of our hearts. Help us, Lord, to see Your blessings for us in the tough places in life. We are blessed. We are blessed by your love, mercy, and grace. I pray that the women who read this will be blessed in their families during Thanksgiving. Help us to be more like You, blessed to be a blessing to all the people in our lives, family, and community. I pray for all these things to be accomplished through your son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
